One more time and twice after that. We should use it as a slogan for our writing challenges.

The simple joys of life are the best and most meaningful.

Your daughters have the right idea! And there’s a family tee slogan right there: “One more time, and twice after that!”

Sometimes it takes a kid to show it to us.

I was transported right into your vacation with your family, @brandon! Very visual story telling. I guess we know where your daughter gets her genes for clever slogans! (Totally agree wi @dipankar that this should be our slogan for the challenge!

PS. By recording this as a story, you have something to pull out and mail to her when she is 19 and flagging through mid-terms. A reminder of her boundless energy and ambition!

Thank you for the kind words.

One of my initial thoughts for writing was creating a living story for my kids (and myself) to have and, therefore, remember. I wanted them to see these magical, mundane moments through their dad's eyes. Thank you for reminding me of this.

That would be a wonderful legacy. As we empty my parent's home, I get to read letters my father wrote to us. To see ourselves through his eyes, is indeed a very special treat, and a link back through time.
