My baby girl almost didn't make it either. So everytime she makes a bid for an extended bedtime because she's telling me a long halting rambling story, or wants me to watch Bluey with her, or read a longer book than I originally wanted to, I check myself and remember it's a fleeting moment. Whatever project I was working on before can wait. These moments are treasures. Thanks for sharing yours.

Thank you for sharing, Matthew. It’s an unimaginable experience that can break us or push us to cherish every sacred and hebel moment. Realizing that these tragedies are opportunities to live a different, intentional, and richer life is still complicated for me, but it is true.

So I, too, binge Bluey with the kids, read the same books repeatedly, and hold my kids tighter when their stories never end. It is sacred and precious and my son, with his beautiful complexities, will remind me of this forever.

Deeply beautiful Brandon. Heart-wrenching, powerful, painful, but beautiful. Much love to you and your family from ours here in Australia.

Just exquisite. I can see a hundred more pieces sprout off of this one, each a wake up call in its own way. Thank you for plucking up the courage to write this.
